LUNCH AND LEARNS
We have many speakers come to our lunch meetings, where we learn about things such as financial planning, practice management, dental products, and careers in dentistry, just to name a few. We also have awesome food at all of our meetings!
FISHING TOURNAMENT & AFTERPARTY
Psi O members, friends, and faculty register for this event, and compete for a whole day in different fishing categories. Prizes are awarded for best catch in each category. An afterparty is held at Red's in Shem Creek, where food and drinks are served!
WESTBROOK BREWERY LAGER AND LEARN
Members got to tour the Westbrook Brewery in Mt. Pleasant, where they got to see how the local beer is made and processed. Afterwards, we all enjoyed tasting the wide beer selection as well as some catered dinner!
BOWLING SOCIAL

BEACH DAYS, BBQ'S
We love to grill out and we have multiple BBQ's throughout the year. Our advisors cook up some tasty BBQ and chicken wings, and members bring delicious appetizers and desserts.
Also, we are in CHARLESTON and we try to take advantage of this as much as possible at the beach! Our members enjoy going to Folly Beach and Sullivan's Island, where some have homes that we can hang out at on the weekends.
HAPPY HOURS
Amongst all of our other social events during the year, we try to squeeze in at least 2-3 happy hours a semester for our members! We know that school can be tough at times, and this is a great way to get our minds off of it and just enjoy each other's company at one of the bars nearby. We like to work hard, but also have fun outside of school!
RUSH PARTY
During Rush Week, we have the opportunity to meet all the new first year students in a more intimate setting than the Post-Gross party. We throw a party for them at our advisor Dr. Albenesius' house, where there is an amazing view of Charleston's natural beauty and landscape (the Stono River). Members socialize with freshmen over drinks and awesome food. 2015's Luau themed party featured a delicious Low Country Boil as the main entree with a myriad of scrumptious sides! The first years develop a better understanding of what the future holds for them in dental school, and become more familiar with the mentorship and guidance that they gain by joining Psi Omega. Also this year, we brewed our very own Psi O beer!
CASINO ROYALE CHARITY GALA
This is our largest event of the year! We invite you to come out and enjoy a casino night with proceeds going to support local dental clinics. This year, we had a great time with catered food, open bar, and professional dealers for blackjack, poker, craps, and roulette! At the end of the night, chips are exchanged for raffle tickets, which can be used to win an assortment of prizes including: numerous gift certificates, a GoPro, an Amazon Kindle Fire HD, an Apple TV, fishing rods, artwork, and much more!
PSI O NARA SENIOR SENDOFF CELEBRATION
This is our last big gathering with our senior members in the spring, who are preparing to graduate! We meet up at our advisor Dr. A's house, and grill out while celebrating the accomplishments of our seniors.
POST-GROSS PARTY
Each summer, we throw a Post-Gross party for the freshmen after they finish one of their Gross Anatomy exams. We know how hard they've studied and how much they deserve to relax and celebrate being done with it! We usually rent out a local bar and get to know the first years with great food and drinks.
INITIATION CEREMONY, RECEPTION, & AFTERPARTY
After gaining our new members from all the different classes (mostly from the 1st year class), an initiation ceremony is held to get them officially inducted into Psi Omega. This occurs at St. Luke's Chapel on campus, where members formally become lifelong members of Psi O. Afterwards, we have a reception with catered food and drinks, and then an afterparty nearby at a bar or venue. It's the new members' first night as a Psi Omega, and we love to celebrate this with them! The 2015 initiation was celebrated with some top notch sushi at Sushi Blue!
HOLIDAY OYSTER ROAST ON FOLLY BEACH
We have an oyster roast at our advisor Dr. A's beach house, where we all get together and wrap presents that we have collected for the families we have adopted during the holiday season, in the Families Helping Families philanthropy. This is a great break from studying for finals and also a fun way to give back to the community.
